A recent component overhaul for a national snack food brand saw BSC’s involvement in supplying premium NTN steel bearings. Ongoing issues with the company’s potato peeling machinery was causing accelerated wear and eventual equipment breakdown, resulting in costly downtime.
Motion Australia Sales Representative for the Food and Beverage sector, Fady Elchab, says that the NTN F-UC bearings proved an excellent replacement solution, extending the wear life and enduring compliance with food safety regulations.
“These particular bearings are filled with solid grease that is safe for food processing applications and in compliance with the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) H1 standard for incidental contact with food,” he explains. “We have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with NTN in Australia, and we were happy to supply their product to a local potato chip manufacturer.”
