Drive shafts play a vital role in the waste management and recycling industries, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment. Recently, Martin Hellings, the Technical Support Specialist at Hardy Spicer, partnered with Russell Plowman, the Product Manager – Off Highway & Industrial Driveline, to assist a Laverton-based recycling company in upgrading their shredder machine.
The company had purchased a new shredder machine with a higher capacity of up to 8000hp, 25% more than their existing shredder. However, the upgrade required modifications to the drive shaft applications in the machine. Martin shared the success story of how Hardy Spicer’s drive shafts outperformed the competition, helping the recycling company achieve their objectives.
