CBC National Business Development Manager for Food and Beverage Leon Stefanec says dairies can be a breeding ground for bacteria if equipment is not regularly cleaned with high-pressure water cleaners and various caustic cleaning agents. However caustic cleaning solutions can degrade the rubber seals on bearings used in dairies which can lead to erosion of the bearing lubricant and eventually, bearing failure.
